EVERY ANIMAL HAS A STORY
Behind every rescue is an animal who needed someone to step forward. Here we share the stories of animals Humans and Animals United has helped — the circumstances they faced, the care they received and the second chances they were given.
SAINT
GUNSHOT SURVIVOR — STILL FIGHTING
Saint survived an unimaginable act of violence — being shot twice in the head. Despite his injuries, he fought to survive and received emergency veterinary care while the effort began to raise the funds needed for the complex surgery that could give him another chance.
His story is one of extraordinary resilience — and of people who refused to let his life end there.
HANK
LEFT IN THE WOODS — WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO NOTICE
Someone left Hank alone in the woods with his belongings, and he waited for someone to notice him. His story is a reminder of how vulnerable an animal can become when the people responsible for him walk away.
Fortunately, someone did notice. Hank’s rescue gave him the opportunity for care, safety and a second chance at the life every animal deserves.
DAWN
SHE ASKED FOR A SECOND CHANCE
Dawn arrived at an animal shelter in heartbreaking circumstances — frightened, physically depleted and desperately in need of a second chance.
With foster care, patience, nourishment and love, Dawn slowly began to come out of her shell. Her journey is a reminder that sometimes the animals who need us most simply need someone willing to believe there is still a better life ahead.
SAMANTHA
WAITING FOR A FOREVER HOME
Samantha was waiting behind a shelter fence, hoping someone would see past the fear and sadness in her eyes and give her a chance. Her circumstances were heartbreaking, but her story did not have to end there.
With compassion, patience and the care she desperately needed, Samantha finally had the opportunity to discover what every animal deserves — safety, love and the hope of a forever home.
